Our Story

Locally designed, one of a kind wedding dresses that are hand-made and tailored with love. Effortlessly beautiful and romantic.

The Process

At Ellebay, every dress is designed, created and handmade from start to finish. All materials are locally sourced and carefully selected. Our fabrics are of the highest quality available using only the finest chiffon and laces. This means, dresses are luxuriously soft and comfortable and even more beautiful in real life. Merly Bayona, designer/owner, sees a muse in every bride that she designs for and takes inspiration from her client's dream dress and translates it to reality. She takes pride in being a part of the special journey of every bride that she works with.

The Designer

Merly Bayona is the woman behind Ellebay's bold, yet delicate collection. She is inspired by all things beautiful; from beauty in nature to vintage designs. A splendid ability to see the invisible and a strong believer of the power of visualization, sets her apart as a mindful designer with an inspiring vision. After graduating from the Helen Lefeaux School of Design, she began designing her own line of bridal couture. Passionate about her craft and creative design process, she is a perfectionist who designs from start to finish, wedding dresses for brides who come to her with their dream dress in mind. Her role model is her mother, a professional designer and a seamstress herself back in the Philippines. As a three-year old, Merly was often found under the cutting table in her mother's sewing room, stealing her scissors to cut paper patterns of dresses for her dolls. She was not trained by her mother, but learned from watching her mother at work. Her passion for the craft and her journey as a designer still continues as she mentors and trains young professionals in her attempt to preserve forgotten craft techniques. She began her journey in mentoring by passing on some of the most intricate techniques of sewing and her insights in designing to her only daughter Gabrielle.
